Good evening, my friends,
I went fishing again today, so I am tired, but we’ll be eating trout for supper soon. We caught six, ranging from 17 to 24 inches long, and one nice 22 inch redfish.
More good news. We’ll be doing another book signing at the Corpus Christi Naval Station Exchange on Friday, 31 August and Saturday, 1 September, from 9 to 5. Come visit with us and buy my book.
We also received a call from the Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) and a listing by email of the bases where we hope to set up for more book signings: Fort Hood; Fort Sam Houston; Lackland AFB, and Barksdale AFB in LA.
We also hope to see you in Austin at Camp Mayberry sometime in the near future.
We’ll keep you posted. But for tonight,
Via con Dias,
Karl

Good morning, my friends and readers. The sun is shining in Rockport and Hurricane Dean is headed south. I spent the morning taking down our storm shutters and found they are easier to take down than put up.
Carol and I have another book signing on Saturday, 25 August at Starbucks on Business 35 in Rockport, from 8 - 5. If you haven’t bought a copy of my book yet, this is a perfect time to enjoy a latte or your choice of coffee, kick back and read a good book. We hope to see you there. Tell your friends to stop by.
On the subject of hurricanes, we feel sorry for our friends in Mexico who will be suffering through this terrible storm. At the same time we feel relief in that Dean didn’t come calling in Texas. We hope the damage and suffering is held to a minimum by our neighbor country’s good planning in advance. Pray for everyone who had to go through this storm.
Fishing has picked up. My neighbor and I went out twice in the last five days. The first time we caught over 200 fish, but only 15 keepers. The last time we caught only 50 fish, but brought back 16 nice big trout. We think the storm helped cool the waters, so there may be some good in a hurricane, but not much.
I’d rather not catch any than to wish a hurricane on anyone.
The next event is a question and answer session with a Rockport book club on September 4th.
Then comes the Sammi Show in Belton on Sep 8-9. You folks in Austin should take a drive to Belton and pick up your copy of my book.
We’re going to try to set up a book signing at Camp Mabry in the near future. If anyone in Austin has a store where we can set up to sell my book, please let me know at: author@karlboyd.com

Good evening, my good friends and fellow readers.
Thanks for stopping by again. I’m sorry I haven’t been writing more, but with the heat of August here in Rockport, Carol and I are taking a couple of weeks off to celebrate my birthday on the 17th.
Fishing hasn’t been good lately, so I’m back working on my books. I have four new novels completely edited to the max and ready for publishing. Now to find a new agent to represent me to the big publishing firms. I want my books in the stores and on the shelves so you can just walk in and pick one up instead of having to order it and wait.
If you know of a good agent, tell him about my first book and put him in touch with me. I’ll keep trying myself. Between us, maybe we’ll strike paydirt.
We’ve sold 193 books so far and will get our first report on the number of books sold by the Publisher at the end of August. Let’s hope it’s a hot August for the printing presses with lots of sales.
You can help me by letting your friends know about “Signs of Our Times”. Get on that trusty computer and tell everyone in your address book to order their own copies. Have them check out my website. We love visitors. A new short story is coming soon.
On another subject, we’ll be helping Carla (the gal with over 2,100 packages mailed to our troops) to help pack seventy more on the 21-22 of August. She tells me she is a little short on postage money this month. Each box costs $8.95 to mail. I plan to donate $50 to help out. If you can spare a few bucks, send them to Carla Reed at 204 Lands End, Bahia Bay, Rockport, TX 78382, and mark your check for “boxes for our troops”. Every little bit helps.
If you’d like to read some of the letters she gets from the troops, send her your email address and she’ll forward them to you. Believe me, the troops really love her and the packages.
So goodnight my friends and thank you for your support. Drop by again soon, and look for us in Belton on 8-9 Sep and at the “Vettes and Jets” aboard the Lexington in Corpus Christi Bay on 15-16 Sep. Buy a few extra books for your friends for Christmas presents.

Good evening my friends.
Carol and I are tired after three straight days of book signings, but very happy that so many of you came out to see us at the Naval Exchange. Thanks to all forty-four of you who bought books, (some more than one). I know you’ll enjoy them. (Don’t forget to give me a review, PLEASE!)
A special thanks to Bobbie and Lynn, who volunteered to help us get set up at Fort Hood and Austin very soon. For those of you who live there, we’ll be coming your way before you know it. Keep an eye out for us. We’d love to talk to you and have you purchase a book.
You’ll help a great organization in “The Wounded Warrior Project” and get a great read at the same time. That’s a “win-win” situation if I ever heard of one.
I’m working on getting an agent to represent me to other publishers so my books will be carried on the shelves in book stores. Publish America has done me a great service in publishing my book, but I need to be in the stores. If you know a Literary Agent, tell them about my books and put them in touch with me.
On another subject - Flying our flag. I began flying my flag permanently at half-staff in memory of our fellow members of the brotherhood of war. It seems everyone else is entitled to have the flag flown for them, so what the heck, I’ll keep it flying at half staff until our guys come home safely and in memory of those many, many who haven’t and won’t. (God, I hate to think of our young men dying.)
Keep them in your prayers and thoughts. I know we will.
Via con Dias, my friends, come back soon,
Karl
