More book signings scheduled.

Good afternoon, my friends.

In case you haven’t ordered a copy from my publisher, or purchased a book from me before, here are some more chances to visit with Carol and me and pick up your copy at the same time.

We’ll be at Bank of America in Aransas Pass tomorrow, Friday, July 20, 2007, from 9 am to 5 pm.

Then on August 2, 3, & 4, we’ll be at the Navy Exchange on Corpus Christi Naval Air Station from 9 am to 5 pm each day.  Look for a big story in the base newspaper about my book.  We’ll be sitting right next to the flower shop.  Stop by and see us.

On September 4th, I’ll visit with a book club in Rockport and hold a question and answer session with the group.  If you’re in the area and would like to join a book club, drop me a line by using the “Write to Me” button on my website.  I’ll put you in touch with the group.

Next up is a Sammi Show at Belton, TX, September 8 & 9, from 10 am to 6 pm both days.  It will be held at the Assembly Hall of the Bell County Expo Center near Killeen.  We hope all you guys and gals from Fort Hood will stop by to visit.

The next week, September 15-16, will be special.  There will be 300 Customized and Antique Corvettes setting on the deck of the Aircraft Carrier Lexington in the Bay of Corpus Christi.  The proceeds from the rally will be split between my favorite charity - The Wounded Warrior Project - and the USO.  We’ll be set up at the bottom of the ramp that leads to the ship.  Look for our small table.  Come see the Vettes and Jets and visit with us.  There will be cars from 18 states there.

We are also scheduled for a three day event, the Rockport Seafair, which will take place in the field next to Little Bay in Rockport, October 5, 6 & 7, from 10 am to 6 pm.  I don’t know where our booth will be, but look for our sign and come visit with us.

We also hope to do another Sammi Show at the ballpark in Roundrock, TX, but we need to reorder some more books before we can commit to that one.  We’ll keep you advised.

We continue to get more reviews and we’re looking for more.  If you’ve read my book, please click on the “review” button and let me know what you think.

We’re doing our best to make this book a best seller and gather enough funds to fulfill our commitment of a $5,000 donation to the Wounded Warrior Project to help our troops.

If you care, come see us, buy a copy of my book, get a great read for your money, and donate to a worthy cause at the same time.

God Bless America!

More money down the drain.

Good evening, my friends.

I thought I’d heard everything that our government can do that is nothing short of ridiculous, but here’s the latest:

FEMA spent $12.5 MILLION dollars on ice and is now throwing it away.

Yes, that’s right.  More money down the drain.  They bought the ice for victims of Katrina, then found there was too much ice, so they paid to truck it back up North, on the off chance it might be needed for some other emergency.

Then they kept it stored for two years and paid $12.5 MILLION dollars to store it.  Now they are throwing it away because they aren’t sure the ice is fit for human consuption.

Can you imagine the stupidity this took?  I can buy a 20 pound bag of ice for $.99, which means the manufacturer probably sells it for less than $.50 a bag.  It doesn’t take a math genius to discover that $12.5 MILLION dollars would have bought FIVE BILLION pounds of ice.

I guess it must be nice to have the controls to our tax money in their little hot hands and no one watching what’s going on.  God, I can’t believe the waste we allow our politicians and their cronies to spend.

I could go on forever, but I think we should all write our congressmen and ask them what the hell is going on out there.  I think several people in the FEMA organization should be put on ice.

But, for better news, back to my book and the good signings wer are having.  I have sold 135 books in the coastal bend area.  Thanks to all of you who supported us in this effort.  We have a lot more to sell.  Come see us.

We will hold another book signing at the Bank of America in Aransas Pass on Friday, July 20th.  Come see us and buy a signed first edition.

We sold another 13 books at the Exchange on the Navy Station in Corpus Christi last Saturday.  Now we are scheduled for another three day visit there on July 31st, August 1st and 2nd.  The Director of Public Affairs will print a nice story in the base newspaper about my book and our planned donation to the Wounded Warrior Project.

We hope all of you retired and active duty military folks in Corpus Christi will come out to the NEX and visit with us.  I am discounting the price of the book to $19.75, including tax,  for all military folks.  Tell your friends.

Remember, the book makes a great gift for any occasion.  Birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, you name it.  Christmas isn’t that far off.  What a stocking stuffer!

We are working with the Vettes and Jets program scheduled for the Lexington on September 15th.  There will be 300 Corvettes setting on the flight deck of the Blue Ghost that day.  Half of the proceeds from this show go to our favorite charity - the Wounded Warrior Project.  We hope we can have a booth there and sell lots of books.

A lady from a book club in Rockport called and I will visit with the members on September 4th for a question and answer session after they read and review my book.  I’ll let you know what they think.

If you’re a Rockport resident, or live close by and would like to join a book club, drop me a line and I’ll put you in touch with these nice people.

On news of another book, I sent in a query letter on my Chinese story, “The Taking of North America”.  I hope to hear something soon.  Keep your fingers crossed.

Remember the lady who sends packages to our troops?  She is now up to over 2,100 and counting.  If you’d like to donate to this cause, drop me a line and I’ll give you her number.  She can use all the help we can give.

Thanks to the many people who have stopped by our booth and given us a few spare dollars for her cause.  We and she both appreciate it.

Again, if you’ve purchased my book and read it, give me a review.  I want to know what you think.

Thanks in advance.

For tonight, Via con Dias, my friends,

Karl

Another Successful Book Signing

Good morning, my friends,

Carol and I had a good weekend selling books at Starbucks in Rockport.  We met a lot of nice people and sold 19 more books, bringing our total sold to 120.

We are off to Corpus Christi this morning to talk to Barnes and Nobles and the manager of the Base Exchange of CC Naval Station about more signings.

Later in the week we’ll head up to Randolph AFB in San Antonio and Fort Hood near Killeen to see about book signings there.  Wish us luck.

A big “Thank You!” to all our customers so far.  We appreciate your support of my writing habit and our troops.

I still need as many reviews as possible.  If you bought my book and have finished it, please click on the “review” panel and tell me what you thought about my novel.

With the current newspaper reports of the many Chinese products failing to meet our standards, and the batteries on cell phones exploding, my son called to tell me to get my latest novel “The Taking of North America” to the publisher.

Perhaps he’s right.  I’ll work on it.  More later.

Thanks for dropping by, my friends,

Via con Dias,

Karl
