A beautiful day in Paradise.

Good morning my friends,

Another beautiful day in Paradise is dawning outside. The “Babes on the Bay” fishing tournament is underway, although two of my neighbors went out this morning and caught nothing. We hope the girls do well.

We’re beginning to get reviews about my novel. You can find them posted under “Reviews” in my blog. If you’re finished reading my story, I hope you’ll take time to write one or two paragraphs to let me know how you liked it.

We did well at the “Curves” book signing and are looking forward to the two at Starbucks. With all the fisherwomen and men in town, we hope they will purchase a copy to read while the fish aren’t biting or they are off the water.

We’ll be off to Lufkin to watch our oldest granddaughter graduate next week, but we’ll be back on Saturday for a few days before we head out to Las Vegas to do some research on my next novel about stealing the $20 million jackpot off the table in front of the players. I already know how to do it, I just need to see a real tournament and get some dialogue from the players themselves.

There will be a new short story on my website shortly. I think you’ll enjoy it. Stop by often to see what’s new and check out my reviews.

If you enjoyed the book, tell your friends, relatives and complete strangers to purchase a copy of their own. I appreciate your efforts to support my writing habit.

So, I’ll kick back and enjoy another song from John Denver. I love “Take Me Home, Country Road”.

Stop by again real soon.

Back from Oregon.

Good morning my friends,

After a long day of flying, (man are my arms sore), (an oldie, but a goodie), we are back home in Rockport, enjoying a very hot morning.  After the cool temperatures, but sunny and lovely days in Oregon, we really feel the heat today.

We had a wonderful visit with our friends, Pete and Mary Ann, who went out of their way to show us a good time.  We’ve known them since before we were married, almost 50 years ago.  It’s nice to have friends so long.

We gave away some of my books to servicemen and women on the trip.  I hope to hear from Amy, Luke, Diana, Jeff and Traci very soon with reviews of “Signs of Our Times”.

We now have 97 hits on our website, and are looking for hundreds more.  The Rockport Pilot did a nice story on my book signings while we were gone.  We have four scheduled for the next couple of weeks, so things are getting interesting.  (See the listing in one of my previous blog entries).  We hope we’ll see you at one of the spots to get your copy signed.

Carol is up to her hips in washing, but looking forward to our next trip, our 50th Anniversary trip to Las Vegas at the end of May.

Our oldest granddaughter is graduating from high school on May 27th, so we’ll be heading over to east Texas to watch her get her diploma.  Meagan is heading for college, hopefully on a volleyball scholarship.

Suddenly I’m feeling my age.  It doesn’t seem so long ago when I was graduating.  Time flies by too fast anymore.

We are glad to be home, and are ready to hit the road selling books.  Come see us and share the moment.

Change in publishing date!

For all of you who have been waiting for June to roll around before you order my book, there is good news!

Publish America changed the publishing date to April.  My daughter ordered four copies, and tells me she received them two days ago.

So, go ahead and order the book and you should receive it within a week.

In other good news, Barnes and Nobles now has the info in their computer to order my book from them.  It is also available from Borders and Amazon.Com

After you read the book, PLEASE visit my website again and leave a review for me to post.

Thanks again for your support.  Tell your friends.  Get on the computer and send a message to everyone in your address book.  Tell them to order it to.

Packing to leave for Oregon; be back soon.

Book signings “booked” for near future.

Good morning, my friends.

Welcome back.  There is lots of good news today.

I have several book signings “booked” for the near future.  Visit with me at one or more of them and purchase a signed first edition.

For you curvaceous girls, women and ladies, the first signing is at “Curves” in Rockport on May 16th – 9-12 & 4-7.

Next is a 9-5 day on Friday May 18th at the American Bank on Business 35 in Rockport.

Then we have two “Java” days scheduled at the new “Starbucks”.

May 20 and 23 – 7 a.m. until 5 p.m.  Come share a latte with us or enjoy your favorite style of coffee.

We are currently working with Wal Mart and hope to have a definite date set by the time we return from a vacation to Oregon.

There is also a date to be scheduled for my friends in Aransas Pass at Bank of America.

The Rockport Pilot plans to do a story on my book for next weekend.  Don’t miss it.

The big news is what “What-A-Burger” is going to do.

They plan a big promotion for a book signing in early June, with flyers and a coupon for free merchandise when you purchase a copy of my book.  More on this later when we finalize the plans.

Please visit my website at www.karlboyd.com and let me know what you think of my blog and short stories.  There will be a new story posted this weekend.  Look for it.  So far we noted more than 50 hits and are looking for hundreds more.

Carol and I will be gone a week, enjoying the sights of the Northwest in Oregon and Washington.  I’ll see you when we get back.  Come visit my website while I’m gone and when we return.

My Books Have Arrived!!

Good afternoon, my friends.

I’m sorry I haven’t been around to welcome all the new friends who have visited my website in the past few days.

Number one – I went fishing again.  Poor excuse, I know, but it’s the main reason I moved here.

Number two, we’ve been sending out 600 plus emails and preparing over 800 post cards to friends, old classmates, pilots, church members and anyone willing to receive a post card telling them about my book.

But, we are finally done.  The emails went out (about 200 of them came back) I am not the typist I thought I was.  Also reading the blue type in small print from a friend’s newsletter was rough.

Seems I have a lot of excuses today, doesn’t it?  But at least I am NOT busy at something besides writing a few more lines to my blog.

No more late nights for a while.  My mind can slow down and enjoy a trip to Oregon for a week to visit good friends there.  I love the Columbia River gorge.  If you’ve never been there, you must make a trip to see it.  I believe it’s one of the most beautiful areas in the USA.

Then we come home for a couple of weeks.  Hopefully the 300 books I ordered will be here and we can begin our book signings.  I say “our” because Carol will be there to help me.  Don’t know what I’d do without her.

Then over 30 May – 3 June, we head to Las Vegas to celebrate our 50th year together and also do some research on a new book about the same gang robbing the Texas Two Card Hold ‘em final table.  We take the $20 million prize money off the table in front of the players and spectators and they don’t know where it went.

No, I won’t tell you how – you’ll have to buy the book.

You won’t believe this.  As I wrote the last line, I saw a UPS truck pull up outside.  I thought it was for my neighbor, but then came a loud pounding on my garage door.  When I looked outside, I had five boxes in the garage and another five headed up the driveway on a dolly.

MY BOOKS ARE HERE. Yours should be shortly.

Carol is in tears.  I think it’s a woman thing, but my eyes are a little blurry.  Guess I didn’t clean them good enough this morning.

So, it looks like my day of nothing to do suddenly drew to a halt.  I thought it was too good to be true; but buyers are calling.  Off I go to arrange book signings

Buy the books.
